Medco E&P Malaka
PT Medco E&P Malacca was the first Oil & Gas company to develop gas in Block A, East Aceh after the Aceh peace, with over 450 BCF in reserves supplying the fertilizer industry in Aceh and North Sumatra.
As the current operator of Block A, exploration dates back to Dutch rule and later PERTAMINA & Asamera Oil Ltd. The block was managed by ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips from 1999–2006 before PT Medco E&P Malacca, along with Premier & Japex, acquired ConocoPhillips' shares until the contract ended in 2011.
In 2011, PT Medco E&P Malacca secured a 20-year extension until 2031. Ownership now stands at 85% PT Medco E&P Malacca and 15% PT Medco Nusantara Energy Power.
Gas fields like Alur Siwah, Alur Rambong, and Julu Rayeuk are developed within Block A, with gas processed at the Central Processing Plant (CPP) Alur Siwah and supplied for domestic use, including power generation.

Repsol Talisman Sakakemang B.V
Repsol plans to drill a second well in Q4 2019, with Sakakemang’s gas reserves estimated at 2 TCF, making it the world’s fourth-largest discovery of 2018–2019. Repsol remains committed to further development to meet domestic demand.
Sakakemang Block ownership: Repsol 45%, Petronas 45%, and Moeco 10%. Repsol has operated in Indonesia since 2009, managing four exploration blocks: East Jabung, Sakakemang, South East Jambi, and Andaman 3.
