2007 will be Safeguard Technology’s 15th year manufacturing and marketing its line of Safety Anti Slip Covers. Since its inception in 1992, Safeguard Technology has grown to become the industry innovator and leader.

The Company’s sole focus has been the design, development and manufacture of superior safety products for the prevention of slips and falls. SAFEGUARD® Safety Covers are designed to outperform every other product in the industry in terms of overall effectiveness, ease of installation and lifetime durability. The company has been awarded two patents covering the manufacturing of these products.

Safeguard Technology was founded by Merv Litzow, who has an extensive background in the chemical industry. He has translated his unique knowledge and experience into the development of an outstanding safety product line. He was joined in 1993 by Jerome Kerlek, who also has an extensive background in the chemical industry. Since that time, Jerry has developed a strong sales and marketing organization, and is now V.P., Sales & Marketing.

Safeguard’s initial product incorporated a stainless steel base. In 1994 galvanized steel products were added and in 1999 a line of products based on pultruded FRP or fiberglass was introduced, followed later by vinyl with a self adhesive backing. Additional product innovations include Pipe and Cable Covers, and Descriptive Marking available on Safeguard’s entire product line. Customers continue to benefit from this extensive range of SAFEGUARD® Hi-Traction Covers.

In 1998, a major product development program culminated in the introduction of Hi-Traction Safety Covers, which provided an additional safety feature…“glow-in–the-dark” properties. This feature provides safe egress in case of a power failure in addition to preventing slips and falls.

Initially SAFEGUARD® Covers were designed for industrial use but the Company subsequently modified its product offering to meet the safety needs of commercial and residential applications. Today, these markets continue to be a driving force behind ongoing product development programs. In 2006 the Company introduced a new line of contemporary earthtone colors, designated SGT2100. These were developed to fit the aesthetic requirements for schools, commercial offices, institutional buildings, hotels, apartment buildings and residences.

Safeguard Technology’s products are utilized worldwide. They are, for example, considered to be the product of choice for the Oil and Gas Industry. Customers in North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Australia, Africa and Asia report their utmost satisfaction with the performance of the SAFEGUARD® line of Safety Covers.
